2. Aquatic-Agri Value Chain Development – Madhesh Province

FFI is pioneering aquatic-agriculture initiatives in Madhesh Province to diversify rural incomes. Partnering with the Mithila Makhana Institute, we are promoting makhana (fox nuts), fishery, and wetland crops, which hold strong potential in regional and national markets. Farmers receive technical training, post-harvest management skills, and guidance on packaging and quality standards. We also strengthen branding and create new market linkages to ensure that these aquatic products achieve premium market value, while improving livelihoods in rural Madhesh communities.

ABOUT US >

FFI is a registered non-profit under the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. We work closely with farmers, cooperatives, and local partners to reduce post-harvest losses, strengthen market linkages, and promote high-value agricultural products. We also focus on aquatic-agriculture in Madhesh Province, promoting makhana (fox nuts) and related value chains.
